The plough, it's a Renault van with a special blade attachment made by Meyer and a salt spreader, has cost €15,000 but is part of the original budget for the construction and maintenance of the road.

In the unlikely event of snow or icy conditions – the last significant snowfall was over 25 years ago and temperatures haven't dipped below zero at all this year – the machine would be used to clear it. Under normal circumstances this would have been done by an army of labourers with shovels.
So, thanks to Ibiza's lateral thinking politicians we'll never miss a day's work because of blocked roads AND it's not cost the public one Centimo extra!
